New Options New Choices
(Early School Leavers Programme):
New Options New Choices offers the opportunity of educational qualification through
the FETAC award system as a suitable alternative to the mainstream secondary school
programme. The learning environment is highly supportive.
The timetable provides a wide range of curricular and non-curricular
subjects. Subjects for examination include Personal Effectiveness, Art,
Communications, Computers, Maths, Horticulture, Work Experience. Non-curricular
subjects include sport and modern music.
Progression routes to employment and further education are explored.

Congratulations to the 2008-2009 group of students from the New Options New Choices who have successfully completed their academic programme and presented their work for assessment on May 20th. Congratulations also to students who have successfully gained entry to Crumlin and Inchicore Colleges of Further Education.
The Literacy Initiative funded by the Dutch Multinational ASML Trust has been drawn to a successful conclusion. The positive outcomes highlighted by the funding organisation were that participants continued in education on completion of the programme and that a modular literacy course had been developed, applied and evaluated and will influence the literacy component of subsequent education programmes.
